I like to move things around, for example I am always rearanging DD & DS’s rooms (even when they don’t know about it).  So I feel that I needed a change with my blog.  What do you think of the new look?

This is the finished Pinwheel dishcloth, the pattern is from patternsforputzes.  Then because I remembered how much I enjoy knitting dishcloths I started on a lacy round cloth you can find the pattern here.

And finally in this update, I am working on a pair of fingerless mittens for my niece.  She has a hard time with full mittens and likes these better.  Here is the first one,  I have to finish the thumb on this one.  Since this is the very first pair of mittens, I am using Caron Simply Soft on size 8 needles and instead of DPN’s I am using 2 circ’s.  I learned how to use 2 circ’s for socks and have found that I much perfer them to DPN’s in any application.

myspace layouts, myspace codes, glitter graphicsI have not had much actual knitting content on my knitting blog.  I have been knitting things thought.  I have only a little to finish on the Rave Lace Shawl, I just started this dishcloth from Rachel’s blog … O and I joined her yahoo group as well (address is on the side bar).  I am STILL working on the opal socks … I REALLY need to finish these darn socks.  I joined the Socknitters group, and one of the members post some pattern links and I think i am going to give this one a try for ME. 🙂 I found this little quiz testing you knitting experience, it was fun and quick.

You’re a knitter. There’s no turning back now; soon you’ll have calluses on your index fingers and double-points rolling around on the floor of your car. There are still plenty of new things you can try, but you have the basics down pat.

What is your level of knitting experience?

Finally ~

start-of-shawl.JPG … After much trial and error I have finally decided on a pattern for my grandmother’s shawl. I have chosen the Rave Lace Shawl by Classic Elite Yarns. Instead of using their yarn however I am using Caron Simply Soft in Berry Blue. I will also use this a PS February/March project!

This is the sad start to a pair of socks. I started these socks.JPGMORE than a year ago (for my dad) … I am using just the standard “men’s sock pattern”. Let’s hope I can stay on track and get these finished. I have to just not start any NEW projects until these are all finished!!

It is a new goal of mine to learn to take better pictures. So with that said while blog surfing yesterday I came across this group. Here is the premis:

You post one or more pictures once a month, any time during the month. The pictures should express the meaning of the month to you. You can post about a person, a place, a thing – whatever you want. Then you write a blog post in conjunction with the pictures to explain the meaning of the month. Twelve pictures/sets = a dozen days. At this point we’re thinking of keeping it simple – do it if you want, but you don’t have to join anything to participate. And we aren’t planning a blog or a web ring. You just post to your own blog. What do you think? You can do it in conjunction with Eye Candy Friday or another group that you are a member of. The goal is to make a fun group that you can use to improve your skills and reflect on the things that matter to you.

In knitting news, I have the decrease left of the hat I started for DD before Christmas. Last night I started a baby hoodie. I have also been working on the dishcloth that I started, it is comming along nicely. I will post WIP pictures in a few days of all these things.

What Kind of Knitter Are You?

You appear to be a Knitting Guru. You love knitting and do it all the time. While finishing a piece is the plan, you still love the process, and can’t imagine a day going by without giving some time to your yarn. Packing for vacation involves leaving ample space for the stash and supplies. It can be hard to tell where the yarn ends and you begin.http://marniemaclean.com
