Archive for December, 2005

Well it took me about 2 months, not constant though, but it is finally finished. I am glad that it is done I was getting a little nervious since I leave for Christmas with the fam on Wednesday. I use DK weight yarn on size 6 needles. The pattern is from Sirdar.

This is the collar, as you can see it is done in a simple k1 p1 rib, the button borders are done in the same pattern. I had a hard time with the collar because the pattern told me bind off the stitches and the pick up and knit these same stitches, I think if I were more experanced I would have held these stitches.

And finally these are the buttons I chose, it was hard to find a button to match since the pink is a very pale pink and because this is for a 2 year old little girl I thought pink would be the best choice.

Over all I really enjoyed making this sweater, I can’t wait to start on the next sweater project, but it is going to have to wait, my son has been asking for a scarf – so I am making him a seaman’s scarf from a modified pattern that the ladies at my LYS had here is the start of it, I am using a worsted weight acrylic/wool blend.

Ice cubes are best kept in your cocktails, baby!

What kind of knitting needles are you?

This project is going to take a long time I think … I just hope I finish in time that she can wear the thing this winter/spring … LOL

As for the other projects the sweater is just about finished just have to find some button that “go” with the yarn.
