I was just turned onto this great fun tool that let you create a personalized signature, here is mine:

It really was fun and easy to do.  They have a few different way to create the signaature as well.

Neko is helping me show off square #5 of 16 for the Aran Afghan.  Have you even seen a cat that sleeps when yarn is around?  It has been slow going since I seemed to forget a few things about knitting - like “knit the knits and purl the purls” but thanks to the help of knittinghelp.com I was able to continue.  It has been fun learning all these great cable patterns, and I realized that once you get into them they are not all that difficult … it is just a matter of paying attention to which row you are on!   

Off to start another square!

Cables, Cables & more cables

A good friend of mine had their first baby (a little girl) on May 3rd.  So I decided to knit them a blanket, I am going with the All About Aran afghan.  I am using Stylecraft Ltd Life Aran in a very pretty cream color.  This square is #2 of 16 … it took me 3 days to knit the first square at this rate it is going to take a while to finish.

Because of the new blaket project I have put the sweater on hold for now. The body part is finished I am now working on the sleeves.  But it is not like DD needs the sweater right now anyway.

Much needed update

Although it does not look like it I am still knitting. I have been working on a pair of socks and a sweater from Sirdar both are for DD.

First the Lady Bug Socks. I am using Opal Lady Bug that I had purchased several years ago. I am using a toe up pattern from SKS. This is my first attempt at toe up socks and I think I like it, but as you can see I am not that far into the sock … so I may change my opinion.

Next the Sirdar Jacket. I found this pattern at my LYS while I was at SnB night, I was working on a different pattern and I was getting tired of it so I found this pattern, honestly I like it better. I am using TLC Cotton plus in Hot Pink for this. The body of this sweater is knit in 1 piece and later is split for the left, right, & back. This other picture of the jacket is the little detail that is on the left and right sides of the jacket.

 

A little late but …

I just saw this quiz today … it is my absolute favorite candy!!  How funny! O and when did they decid it would be a good idea to start making creme eggs smaller??

This is a sneak peak of the dishcloth I am working on for the Winter Doldrums swap.  It is the Candy Striper Cloth.  It is an easy pattern but knits up so nicely.
